When keeping it real goes awesomely right
The idea for Inked Organics came about when a few of us real people, who had taken very different paths through life, got together and realized that we all were looking to make a difference. That meeting resulted in a promise to make the most healthy and awesome tasting bread people can buy.
Why the name Inked Organics?
The Inked Organics brand is built around the idea that art and craft are involved in the most enjoyable things in life and we feel that using tattoo art helps us communicate this idea. We like what tattoos stand for
The Inked Difference
- We believe in organically grown food because we respect this planet.
- The best food comes from the best ingredients – we do not compromise and there are no shortcuts.
- We believe in supporting and preserving the livelihood of family owned farms.
- We are committed to preserving the art and craft of artisan baking, and think it’s best done through supporting local bakeries.
- We are real people who make amazing bread with a real purpose.
Chief Executive OfficerAs our Chief Executive Officer, Scott is responsible for just about everything that goes on here and is the first to remind us that he loves this job. A former Ohio farm boy, Scott joined the military at 18 and traveled the world. For the past 20 years, Scott has worked with companies towards one objective – to create shareholder value. For as long as he can remember, Scott has wanted to work with others as passionate as he is to build a great company that makes people’s lives better. When not working, Scott is a father (aka logistician) supporting the activities of his two sets of twins. His idea of heaven on a plate: Mojo with Turkey, Ham, Pepperjack cheese, and mustard, heated and enjoyed.
Chief "Make-It-Happen" OfficerWith a name like Bakker, Dustin was born for Inked Organics. He is literally a second-generation baker and traces his love of good organic food and sustainable agriculture to his grandfather’s farm in Washington. With decades of experience in the food industry, Dustin has worked for huge national bakeries as well as building a regional bakery from ground zero to become a national player in the industry. But, that just wasn’t good enough and he wanted something more satisfying. He co-founded Inked Organics because “I got sick and tired of reaching to the shelf and picking up crumby bread that just didn’t have passion behind it”. We fixed that for you Dusty! As our Chief “Make-It-Happen” Officer, he heads up our sales team and loves to share his bread passion far and wide. A factoid about Dustin – at the age of three he performed in a rodeo as “Twinkie The Kid.” Dustin’s favorite Inked Organics Bread: Agave Super Seed, straight outta the bag baby!!
Chief Creative Officer
As our Chief Creative Officer, Ryan holds the world record for “most unusual path to being a baking guy”. A passionate professional musician, composer for video games and graphic designer by trade, Ryan is responsible for the Inked Organics brand and is hands on with all the bag design, website, sales copy, social media, van wraps and shirts! The inspiration for Inked Organics came together from watching way more cooking shows than one should and having an ‘AHA!’ moment after seeing so many pro chefs with tattoos. Ryan led the creative way to all the cool artwork you see on every Inked Organics package and equates launching the Inked Organics brand to releasing a new album with a great band. Ryan’s favorite Inked Organics Bread: Rosie’s San Francisco Sourdough Grilled Cheese Sangwich!
Chief Entertainment Officer and Chief Formulation Officer
Chief Bread OfficerNicky’s bio is forthcoming but here’s the cliff notes: Nicky is from a family of bakers and farmers, he’s an acclaimed baker, runs ultra marathons, has had more Gigs as a Guitarist and Graphic designer than a Macbook Pro and I heard he once straight up punched a Grizzly Bear in the face…
FYI: We have a Chief Bread Officer because if you’re making bread for people, and you don’t have a guy that’s makin’ it happen on the bread front, then you’re probably doing it wrong.
Operations OfficerIf it involves getting Inked Organics bread from bakery to store shelves, Steve is on it. He’s so dedicated to his work, we had to build a small apartment next to our bakery so Steve could keep a close eye on every detail. And that’s ok with Steve, who believes, “If you love what you do, it’s not work.” With more than 30 years in the industry, Steve looks at Inked Organics as his chance to do something revolutionary. How big? “I want to create the best bread company possible. This is my lunar landing.” A die-hard Raiders fan, Steve got his first tattoo at the age of 42, of, what else, the Raiders emblem. Next up, the Inked Organics logo. Now that’s commitment. His favorite bread: Toasted Great White with butter.
District ManagerRafael Garcia better known by his ring name Randy Savage, was an American professional wrestler and color commentator best known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation(WWF, now WWE) and later World Championship Wrestling (WCW). His best known nickname was “Macho Man”. He was recognizable by wrestling fans for his distinctively deep and raspy voice, his flamboyant ring attire, intensity exhibited in and out of the ring, his use of “Pomp and Circumstance” as his entrance music, and his signature catch phrase, “Oooh yeah!”
Director of Happiness
As Director of Happiness Amy works diligently to make sure customers, vendors and our crews on the roads have the support they need. When not helping Inked Organics run like a fine tuned machine she is an avid fan of Falconry often volunteering at her local Raptor Rehabilitation center, the Olympic game of Curling (Canadian Rules of course… She’s not a savage) and holds a 18th degree black belt in Wisconsin Judkido.
Senior AdviserWith 45 years in the bread industry, Tony comes by the role of Senior Advisor honestly. Just don’t call him that. Instead of giving advice, he’d rather be in the field, in a hands-on role backing up our “Make-It-Happen” Officer. At Inked Organics we rely on Tony for his experience and his track record — he’s seen so many brands come and go, get bought, get big and lose the passion that they started with — to make sure we stay honest, authentic, and never forget why we got into this business in the first place: to make great bread the way it used to be. While Tony claims he can’t remember grade school, for as long as he can remember his nickname has been “The Godfather.” Favorite recipe: take two slices of Super Seeds and combine with Italian Salami, Pepperoni, Smoked Ham and Mozzarella.
Business Analyst Intern 2017Lauren has charts and graphs to back her up, so she wins! In her role as data analytics and research intern, Lauren has the numbers we need to support our operational and strategic decisions. It’s a position she took because she wanted a role with an entrepreneurial approach that focused on her passion: high quality, “good for you” food. As a “major foodie” Lauren loves cooking and baking in her spare time. Her advice: Always say “yes!” to avocado toast. Her favorite bread: Superseeds with avocado, sprouts and a hit of lemon pepper.
